Set in the tranquil village of Montichelvo in the Vall d'Albaida, surrounded by mountains just 20 minutes from the main town of Gandia with it’s beautiful blue flag beaches. These stretch for miles along the Mediterranean coastline of the Costa Blanca and Costa Del Azahar (The Orange Blossom Coast). This really is a great combination of staying inland and being close to the beach and the sea.A rare opportunity to experience REAL SPAIN. Superb scenery and azure blue skies (for at least 300 days a year). Getting here is easy - budget flights through Ryanair, Easyjet and Flybe etc. provide cheap air travel. Valencia and Alicante airports are approximately an hours drive away – car hire details available if required. If you are looking for property for sale, we are ideally situated for house hunting - a great base to look for that house, villa or apartment. If we can be of help we are only too happy to offer advice based on our own experience. Our house is a fine 300 year old restored townhouse, believed to have formed part of the original castle at Montichelvo, combining the quality and feel of a small hotel or village guesthouse. Two of our guest rooms have their own personal roof terraces facing south to the mountains and all guests also have use of an enormous roof terrace at the top of the house. The rooftop and mountain views from here are even more spectacular! All the terraces are furnished to provide excellent facilities for enjoying breakfast overlooking the village and the mountains. Each spacious guest room is comfortably furnished complete with it's own sitting area and superb en-suite shower room. There is a whole range of activities in this area including hill and mountain walking, 4x4 rides, mountain biking, golf, micro-lighting, photography, drawing, painting, mountain climbing, fishing etc. There are caves to visit, an old railway line that winds along the river Serpis to explore, miles of signposted footpaths to walk or cycle. Or just take the time to relax...... Also, depending on the timing of your visit there may be a lively fiesta or two to enjoy! All along the coastline there are numerous water sport opportunities from sailing to kite-surfing. Although we are in a small village inland, we are still only 20 minutes away from the Mediterranean coast with its beautiful beaches, warm waters, modern marinas - the choices of activities are endless!Within the village we are centrally located in the church square with very easy access to local bars and local shops. The swimming pool (which is open between June and September) is just 2 minutes walk away.We are fortunate in Montichelvo to have two bars, both being typical Spanish bars as this really is not the usual tourist area. They both have their own characters and are great places to sit, perhaps with a cold beer and tapas, to unwind and soak up el ambiente (the atmosphere). We also have two small supermarkets, butchers, bakers, a chemist and a hairdressers so most everyday requirements are catered for.Within 5kms there are larger towns with a wider choice of shops, banks, discoteques, garages etc. And restaurants with superb three course menu-del-dias from just 7.50 euro! It's very unusual to hear English being spoken around here so if you're looking to practice your Spanish this is the place for you! If not - then your phrasebook will be very useful and we are on hand to help where we can.NoOfAccomodation: 7NoOfBeds: 3
