Los Hidalgos is a new development of 10 buildings arranged around a large central swimming pool and gardens.Each building contains 20 apartments, all with an allocated parking space in the basement. Access to the garage is by "remote control" operated doors and the whole complex is gated and secure. There is an elevator in each building.
The apartment comprises hall, large living room (18 square metres), a fitted kitchen, a spaceous bedroom and bathroom. The main features are the terraces - 40 square metres - at the rear overlooking the pools and gardens, and the main terrace, (access from both living room and bedroom) facing due south. This looks out onto the famous Manilva vineyards with incredible views of the Mediterranean and North African coast.
The beach is a five minute stroll and there is a golf course ,supermarkets and restaurants almost adjacent to the complex. A short walk along the beach brings you to a quaint fishing village with excellent restaurants; a little further along is the well known Puerto de la Duquesa with its beautiful harbour, shops, bars and restaurants - a selection to suit every taste. There are more excellent supermarkets at Sabinillas plus banks, garages and all kinds of shops.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a ceramic hob, combination microwave/grill/oven, washing machine, fridge freezer, coffee maker and all the usual equipment. The living room has a large sofa which easily converts into a comfortable double bed and there is a radio/CD player and satellite TV with English Freeview.
The bathroom has a shower over the bath and includes a bidet. In the bedroom there is a comfortable double bed, ample wardrobe and drawer space. All the furnishings are new - 2004. The floors are polished marble and all the windows and patio doors are double glazed with white roller shutter blinds which help to keep the apartment cool.
When you want a change from the beach there are fascinating local markets to visit: Sabinillas, Estapona, San Pedro, Benalmadena and Port Banus. You should also visit Gibralta, Tarifa (where the Mediterranean and Atlantic meet), Port Banus (for the really wealthy) and Marbella. We found the hill towns of Gaucin and Ronda really lovely and the mountain roads leading to them quite spectacular.
Changeover day is flexible.
The apartment is just off the main coast road, about 25 km from Gibraltar, 35km from Marbella and about 1 1/2 hours drive from Malaga airport.
